Ever get the feeling you're stationary? No, not like in the picture above, but stationary as in you're not moving? It seems that when we define goals for ourselves, they need to substantiate daily actions, because otherwise, it seems we lack purpose. And when we lack purpose, anything we do seems to go to nothing.
Why did we start calling stationary (like in the above photo) "stationary", anyway?

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion its a contradiction to call them stationery, its an oxymoron. But perhaps thats their beauty.
ReplyDeleteBut WIKI would say:
History of stationery
Originally the term "stationery" referred to all products sold by a stationer, whose name indicates that his book shop was on a fixed spot, usually near a university, and permanent, while medieval trading was mainly ambulant, by peddlers (including chapmen, who sold books) and others (such as farmers and craftsmen) at non-permanent markets such as fairs. It was a special term used between the 13th and 15th centuries in the manuscript culture.
Keep your goals alive because even if we feel like were going nowhere be rest assured that our earth is still moving while we may be stationary.
Peace :)
